Who?
Joe’s CAD Co was founded in 2005 by Joe Rowsey, who has been using, training, and supporting 3D parametric CAD since 1997.
Joe worked with Pro/Engineer from 1997 into 2000 and then joined think3. At that time, SolidWorks was emerging as the market leader with user-driven improvements like eDrawings and SmartMates. So, in 2001, Joe started working with SolidWorks at the nation’s first and the mid-west’s leading SolidWorks reseller, Computer Aided Technology, Inc.
Within a couple of months, Joe earned all three SolidWorks certifications that were available:
- Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP)
- Certified SolidWorks Support Technician
- Certified SolidWorks Instructor
Since then, Joe started working as an independent contractor. Along with standard modeling contract work, Joe writes and edits training manuals, best practices guides and other support documents, and provides SolidWorks training services.
In addition to earning specialized certifications in Sheet Metal, Weldments, and Advanced Surfacing, Joe also earned his CSWE (Certified SolidWorks Expert) in the first year of its existence.
At this time, there are fewer than 600 CSWEs on the planet. There are about 100 CSWEs in the United States, but the majority of them work directly for SolidWorks, or SolidWorks resellers.
There are fewer than 10 CSWEs in the southern states, and Joe is the only one in Louisiana. The 'Certified Users' link on the SolidWorks Certification Center can be used to find a Certified SolidWorks Expert near you.
What?
Joe’s CAD Co provides SolidWorks modeling, documentation, and training services.
Models and Drawings:
If you need some high quality models and drawings created, Joe can do that relatively quickly. Joe can also help if you have models that have been started, but help is needed to complete the project.
Training for new users:
If you are new to SolidWorks, Joe can provide training specific to the types of models that you will commonly work with. Joe can also help migrate existing geometry, templates, and techniques from other CAD systems to SolidWorks
Help for experienced users:
If you currently use SolidWorks and want to get some more power out of it, Joe can help to unlock SolidWorks’ full potential with feature libraries, design tables, simple macros, equations and more. The following is a partial list of SolidWorks topics that Joe can help out with:

Where?
Joe is in New Orleans, but geography is not much of a restriction. Internet tools allow Joe to complete projects for clients throughout the United States. If the project involves on-site work, Joe is very good at keeping travel expenses low.
Why?
Hire Joe to create SolidWorks models and drawings, or hire him to help out with a SolidWorks project or for SolidWorks training when you want high quality results, relatively quickly, at rates that beat the competition.
